If you want to be more proficient with your computers, attend our two-day, hands-on boot camp. The teaching is geared to beginners, but we find that people who have used their computers for years learn a lot as well. This is for Windows-based computers - either Windows XP or Windows Vista. Below are some details on exactly what will be covered. You can also see our Blog Post from the last Boot Camp.
We picked 6 important topics and offer a session on each. A ‘session’ consists of 3 parts 1)demonstration 2)hands-on assignment; 3)review.
The 6 session/topics are:
- How to write a letter with software already on your computer (WordPad), save it, and find it again. How to print it on someone else's printer if you don't have one by copying it to a USB drive.
- How to backup important files to CD, and keep your computer clean and safe
- How to Use WiFi to get online and browse, search, set up favorites
- Know your computer; make & model, operating system, hard drive size, memory size, support website, shutdown and sleep options, what to do when things go wrong
- How to use Outlook Express or Windows Mail for your email
- How to manage your digital photos and make an online photo album with Picasa (a free program from Google)
The cost is $99 for one person, or $129 for a couple using one computer. You bring your own (Windows-based) laptop computer. This price includes instruction from both Jim and Chris Guld (Geeks on Tour), an exercise workbook, and a CD of video tutorials. It does not include the RV site fees for the 2 days.
Register for the Datastorm Users Post-rally Computer Boot Camp - Nov 15-16 (Saturday and Sunday). Site fees are separate - contact Lazydays at 866-703-3075 for reservations.
