You've just made a scammers day by
clicking on the bait! What happens now?
- You may be fine. If your system is up-to-date it may detect the scam
and prevent it.
- You may be asked to download something now. If you do, it probably
comes with lots of annoying spyware that will be difficult or impossible
to remove. Or, you'll be asked for $ and you won't get anything in return.
- With this one click, it is possible that you've given permission for some
nasty software to take over your computer and turn it into a 'zombie'. It
can then be used to send out thousands of spams and it will become
nearly unuseable for you.
